Tech Tip: Teaching the Next Generation the Value of Sustainability

At Trane, we help facility managers confront and solve challenging sustainability issues to realize greater efficiencies in their buildings. That’s why we think it’s important to enhance sustainability education among the upcoming generation of FMs. A recommendation by the Center for Green Schools at USGBC and Houghton Mifflin Marcourt (HMH) advocates for just that.

In its National Action Plan for Educating Sustainability, the organization says it hopes that all states require K-12 students to complete a sustainability literacy course in order to graduate by 2040. Click here and read the Buildings article to learn more about the plan.

How do you think expanding sustainability literacy in our schools will impact energy use and sustainability in our K-12 systems? Tell us on Facebook or Twitter.
