IoT Emerge Attendees Learn to Leverage the Internet of Things
to Turn Data into Revenue

Chicago, Oct. 31, 2016 – Matt Gates, LEED AP, vice president of Energy Management Services and Solutions for Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, will join other thought leaders at IoT Emerge to address the opportunities and challenges posed by the Internet of Things (IoT) and the ways it is transforming devices, platforms and services. The event will be held Nov. 2-3 at McCormick Place in Chicago with Gates’ presentation, “The Secret of Turning Data into Revenue,” taking place from 1-1:30 p.m. on Nov. 2.

The amount of data that IoT produces can be daunting for companies as they explore how to use that data to enhance their services and solutions offerings to drive revenue. Gates will help attendees understand how they can take a strategic approach to using the wealth of data that IoT connectivity provides to identify and assess potential new streams of revenue. Gates also will teach attendees to develop a process to identify what data should be collected as well as how and what needs to be put in place to turn data into intelligence.

“While the IoT creates opportunities for companies, it can be tempting to pursue data for data’s sake,” Gates said. “It’s far more valuable to take a thoughtful, strategic approach that leverages the benefits data offers while identifying an unmet need that IoT can help address for customers.”
