Trane Demonstrates How Big Data Tools Enhance Existing Building Commissioning at NCBC 2015

St. Louis, May 18, 2015 – Building professionals today are doing more with less with tougher goals each year. Technology offers ways to assess and prioritize opportunities while allowing users, from the owner and provider communities, to visualize results.

Terry Bickham, director of Energy Services and Solutions at Trane, will demonstrate how “big data” tools enhance the impact of existing building commissioning (EBCx) at the National Conference on Building Commissioning, (NCBC), 2015, sponsored by the Building Commissioning Association (BCA) on May 18-20 in St. Louis. Bickham will discuss how to access and translate building data into actionable information through analytics with outputs that help visualize performance and opportunities.

Attendees of the session will learn how to:

  • Use "big data" techniques in determining where to expend resources/evaluate potential opportunities (and where not to).
  • Use data visualization techniques to conduct "virtual audits" in the planning phase to make the investigation and implementation phases more productive
  • Use data analysis and visualization to communicate updated operations and impacts during the hand-off phase, allowing better communication with operators and performance verification for stakeholders at all levels.
  • See how to use ongoing data visualization and automated analytics to provide value added, automated ongoing commissioning at a glance.
