Sensible Assisted Membrane Heat Exchanger

Sensible Assisted Membrane Heat Exchanger

Overview

An efficient design for utilizing membrane exchangers.

An efficient design for utilizing membrane exchangers, especially for large airflow requirements, and reduces or removes the leakage potential from the building exhaust air path.

  • Available on CSAA sizes 3-50
  • Airflow capabilities ranging from 4,000-28,000 CFM
  • High static pressure differential capabilities
  • Near zero cross leakage
  • Enables ASHRAE® 90.1 compliance
  1. More Efficient Energy Recovery

Leveraging membrane exchangers (enthalpy cores) and fixed-plate heat exchangers deliver up to six percent improvement in total energy effectiveness with one inch less air pressure drop versus alternative membrane exchanger designs.

  2. Reduced Footprint

The Trane Sensible Assisted Membrane (SAM) allows for a reduced equipment footprint; no upstream or downstream transitional space that is typically required by alternate designs.

  3. Energy Savings

The Sensible Assisted Membrane (SAM) can help to provide up to 60% reduced air pressure loss results with 20% fan energy savings. It can also help to deliver a greater energy recovery effectiveness of up to 65%.
