What is a chiller-heater, and how can it help your organization with decarbonization?
Quick Facts
A chiller-heater is a Trane product that is more commonly known as a heat pump chiller. It is a hydronic heat pump that can either heat or cool a hydronic fluid using the refrigeration cycle by moving heat from one place to another.
For buildings with existing chiller plants and simultaneous heating and cooling demands, integrating a chiller-heater into the system enables heat recovery, serving as an initial step toward the electrification of heating. Electrification efforts can also be supported by installing air-to-water heat pumps, which use reversible heat pumps to efficiently deliver cooling and heating to your operations.
