VRF: The right solution for CORE Fitness
When CORE Fitness in Providence, Rhode Island, began transforming an old brownstone into an upscale fitness center, they turned to Coldmasters and Trane. Specializing in cycling, weight training and boxing classes, CORE knows the importance of bringing individualized comfort to its clients.

11 Madison Avenue, an Art Deco marvel located in Manhattan’s Midtown South neighborhood, has for more than 70 years stood for the finest in New York architecture and innovation, while reflecting the city’s dynamic evolution and reinvention. Trane met their challenges with a thermal energy storage system.
55 Water Street undertook an initiative to strategically replace several large components of their existing chiller plant. Driving forces behind this project were: improve cooling system efficiency; reduce building electric demand; improve system resiliency; simplify building operations; reduce the building’s carbon footprint.
Custom Penthouse Air-Handler Replacement
Outdated HVAC equipment in a Secausus Class B office building could no longer provide a comfortable work environment for tenants. Working quickly and collaboratively, Trane® and ENCON designed a penthouse mechanical room for improved reliability, reduced maintenance, and more comfortable tenants.
As one of NYC's iconic hotel properties and one of the first to support the NYC Carbon Challenge, Grand Hyatt New York made a commitment to sustainable practices with the help of NYSERDA, Con Edison and Trane. They completed building automation upgrades that dramatically improved the energy use of the 1,298 guest room hotel.
Dighton-Rehoboth School District
Comprehensive energy improvements were completed through an Energy Savings Performance Contract. Trane replaced outdated boilers, lighting, HVAC systems, and controls. As well, replaced roofs & windows at two schools and installed a 1.2-megawatt solar photovoltaic system to generate renewable energy.
With a number of wash down and boiling procedures inherent in the beer brewing process, humidity control was a top priority as The Alchemist planned construction of its new Stowe facility. Based on a trusted relationship that spanned seventeen years, VHV contacted Trane to discuss the best HVAC equipment and controls solution.
University of Maine Farmington
Biomass hot water heating plant outperforms first-year expectations; replaces 390,000 gallons of heating oil; decreases carbon emissions by 4,000 tons per year; improves system reliability and reduces maintenance costs; supports local economy.
Infrastructure upgraded were implemented to optimize operations, lower energy costs, provide better patient and staff comfort, and reduce equipment noise levels. Results include overall utility cost savings of more than 20%. Total energy and nonenergy savings amounts to $454,888 per year. Utility incentives were approximately $1.1 million.
