Additionally, our intelligent building management systems provide the tools needed to make buildings smarter and enhance operational performance. We are committed to delivering technologies that drive both sustainability and operational excellence."
Electrification of Heat: A Sustainable Future
Trane is paving the way for building electrification, offering innovative solutions that help improve efficiency while lowering carbon emissions.
Trane's Air-to-Water Cascade Heat Pump System is revolutionizing electrified heating, providing a highly efficient alternative to traditional boilers. This innovative system, part of Trane's comprehensive heat pump chiller portfolio, achieves significantly higher temperatures than air-to-water heat pumps alone and is three times more energy efficient than traditional heating. This makes it an ideal high temperature boiler replacement for cost-effective building retrofits by allowing the existing infrastructure to remain in place.
Its design allows for seamless integration with existing piping and coils, reducing disruption and eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming infrastructure modifications. This simplifies installation, reduces overall project costs, and makes boiler replacement a financially viable option, even in situations where it was previously considered too expensive.
Additionally, Trane's new Domestic Hot Water Heat Pumps offer an efficient and sustainable water source solution for domestic hot water needs. These units can provide up to 175°F hot water and boasts high efficiencies that are up to four times more efficient than traditional water heaters with the added benefit of providing simultaneous cooling and heating. This makes it an ideal replacement for gas boilers and other traditional domestic hot water systems, significantly reducing energy consumption and operating costs. When replacing the boiler that heats a building, Trane can now provide a solution for domestic water heating through Trane Domestic Hot Water Heat Pumps. Sourcing a domestic water heating system and HVAC system from a single supplier helps improve building efficiency, simplifies integration and provides a “one-stop-shop” service and support experience.
Solutions for Existing Building Upgrades: Modernizing for Efficiency and Performance
Trane understands the challenges of upgrading existing systems and is committed to providing solutions that reduce disruption and enhance impact.
Trane’s Agility® magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller has been expanded to 500 tons. Introduced in 2019, Trane’s Agility® magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller is ideal for retrofit projects due to its energy-efficient operation, high-performance capability, and space-saving design. The Agility chiller features an oil-free, two-stage, semi-hermetic centrifugal compressor with a permanent magnet motor, delivering stable operation across various conditions. With full-load and Integrated Part Load Values (IPLV) that outperform the ASHRAE® 90.1-2022 standard, the Agility chiller helps reduce electrical consumption and demand charges, lowering operating expenses. Its compact footprint allows it to fit through standard double doors fully assembled or through a single door when disassembled into two sections, reducing structural modifications and cutting installation time and costs.
The Agility model HDWA, with a third-party verified Environmental Product Declaration, uses low-GWP refrigerant R-513A and offers design options like harmonic filters, heat recovery, and thermal energy storage.
Intelligent Building Management: Enhancing Performance and Reducing Operational Burden
