ComEd Awards Trane “Most Energy Savings” honor for 2025

Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) has honored Trane with the "Most Energy Savings" award for significantly reducing energy consumption for Illinois customers in 2025.

ComEd, a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation, who provides power to more than 70% of the Illinois population, has awarded Trane Commercial the honor of “Most Energy Savings” among Authorized Service Providers in the Standard offering for 2025.

The award, which results from work Trane completed on behalf of their customers, represents a reduction in energy usage of 5,253,730 kWh.

From an environmental sustainability perspective, according to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator, reducing energy consumption by that many kWh is equivalent to:

736 homes’ electricity use for an entire year
Planting 58,364 trees
3,920,868 pounds of coal burned

From a business sustainability perspective, helping Trane customers save 5,253,730 kWh of energy generated $1.756 Million in annual energy cost savings, allowing them to redirect capital back to things important to their business.

These initiatives include upgrades to simple things like LED lighting, as well as long term capital investments in energy efficient chiller units, Light Commercial Rooftop Units, and integrated control systems that allow visibility and control.
