A VRF heat pump system provides either heating or cooling to all indoor zones at the same time. It works by circulating refrigerant between an outdoor unit and multiple indoor units. In heating mode, the system pulls heat from the outdoor air and transfers it indoors; in cooling mode, it removes heat from the building and releases it outside.
All zones must be in the same mode (heating or cooling), so it’s best suited for buildings with similar thermal needs across spaces.
Yes, the Y Series is designed for reliable performance in a wide range of conditions. It can provide heating in outdoor temperatures as low as -22°F and cooling in temperatures up to 115°F.
In very cold regions, optional enhancements like base pan heaters or wind baffles may be recommended to maintain peak performance. Always consult system specifications and local climate needs during design.
