Service Agreements

Commit to taking better care of your system.

We’ll handle it all

Research shows that regular maintenance can reduce downtime by 35–45 percent* and reduce unexpected breakdowns by 70–75 percent.* HVAC systems are complex. Regulations regarding emissions and proper refrigerant handling and leak reporting can be confusing. It is easy to make costly mistakes. Why not leave it all to Trane? We offer service agreements for any type of HVAC system. You have the flexibility to choose actions and set schedules to customize a service agreement that is uniquely in line with your needs, priorities and budget. Plus, our technicians are factory trained with support from a network of Trane experts. You’ll receive quality service every time, in every building.

We pay attention to the details

HVAC is Trane’s area of expertise. We know what attention the equipment needs, and when it needs it to stay reliable and energy efficient. Regular maintenance can cut repair costs by as much as 25–30 percent.* Our service agreements typically wrap in a full system inspection, refrigerant management (including disposal and documentation) and all scheduled maintenance. If you’d like, our technicians can also assess the age and condition of the installed equipment and help you make plans for asset replacement and emergency back-up HVAC and power.

Refrigerant management compliance is standard

Because we are dedicated to sustainability, all Trane Service Agreements include refrigerant recording and reporting. Our Refrigerant Management System is used by Trane service technicians to record all the detail allowing quick report generation to meet various refrigerant reporting regulations.

Using smart technology and data helps to avert trouble

We’re using technology, including ultrasonic, electromagnetic induction, vibration analysis and infrared thermography to anticipate failures in real time.

We’ll assess energy use and fix the weak links

Regular maintenance can help reduce energy consumption by 5–20 percent.* Our energy assessment tools use data collected from your building to create graphic depictions of how and when energy is being consumed. It’s the first step in reducing the energy intensity of your building.

We’ll even include the building automation system (BAS)

With us, HVAC Service can include the BAS. We can fine-tune, recalibrate and upgrade the building automation system and sensors, including upgrading software and cyber security.

It all begins with our foundational Service Agreements

The service agreement we design for you is generally based around the framework of two basic levels of service.

Scheduled Service puts regular maintenance on a planned schedule and budget. Most of the time, a planned approach costs less than purchasing ad-hoc services or paying for repairs on the fly. It also makes sure that important maintenance doesn’t get skipped or delayed.

Select Service provides the same standard maintenance as Scheduled Service. Then it goes a step further by providing parts and labor coverage for specified critical equipment. We’ll collaborate with you to determine which components or systems to include.

Introducing a new type of service: Trane® Connected Service for VRF. This offering, which requires combining Trane / Mitsubishi Electric VRF equipment with a Trane Tracer® SC+ Building Automation System, enables automated remote inspections powered by proprietary analytics through Trane Connect. The service agreement combines proactive remote check-ins and onsite scheduled maintenance to give building owners and facilities managers better control over their budget and their building.

  • What you need to know about using R-22 in HVAC systems

R-22 was the most popular refrigerant used in commercial and residential air conditioning units for many years because it was considered a safe and cost-efficient refrigerant choice by the HVACR industry. But as anyone in the industry knows, R-22 was phased out in the U.S. beginning in 2010 because it is ozone depleting.
