Smart Home Comfort Systems: Energy Efficient, Convenient, & Customizable

Imagine a home where your energy bills are lower, you have full control over the climate, and every room feels just right. Today's home comfort goes beyond just temperature--it's about having control, breathing cleaner air, and enjoying true peace of mind.

A smart HVAC system from Trane offers custom comfort, enhanced efficiency, seamless connections with other smart home devices, and reliability. The result? A healthier, more efficient home environment.

Start with an energy-saving smart thermostat paired with the Trane Home App

A smart thermostat turns your heating and cooling system into a smart HVAC system. A Trane smart thermostat paired with the Trane Home App is your key to custom control of your HVAC system and energy savings.

You can also seamlessly integrate other smart home devices and manage them all from the palm of your hand or by telling your voice assistant what you want to happen. Check out Trane’s Best Smart Thermostats for an idea of the possibilities.

Enjoy uninterrupted comfort and peace of mind with Trane Diagnostics

When you have a Trane smart thermostat and you opt into Trane Diagnostics through the Home App, you allow your Trane dealer to monitor your HVAC system remotely. Remote monitoring of your HVAC system’s health allows your dealer to help ensure your uninterrupted comfort.

If they see an issue with system performance, they’ll troubleshoot remotely (with your permission) and fix the problem remotely if they can. Otherwise, they’ll schedule an on-site visit, and the technician will arrive with the knowledge and parts to fix the problem.

Customize your home comfort further with a zoned HVAC system

In Trane Link™ zoning, a variable-speed system, combined with HVAC zone dampers, an HVAC zone control hub, HVAC sensors, and a smart thermostat (UX360), provides precise temperature and humidity control throughout every corner of your home.

Take control of your comfort and customize the temperature room by room, zone by zone. Components work together to optimize your comfort and energy use.

Improve indoor air quality for enhanced comfort and health

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Americans spend 90% of our time indoors. The EPA also says that indoor air pollution levels can be as high, and even exceed, outdoor pollution levels.

That’s why it’s so important to be aware of your indoor air quality (IAQ). Your Trane dealer can perform indoor air quality testing and equip you with an indoor air quality monitor that connects seamlessly with your HVAC system to help monitor humidity levels and possible pollutants. They can also make recommendations for whole-house solutions to improve indoor air quality, based on the issues affecting your home.

Understanding home comfort technology

When you’re planning to install a new HVAC system, it’s important to know these terms.

Smart thermostats are the cornerstone of a connected comfort experience. A smart thermostat, or Wi-Fi thermostat, connects to the internet to offer you control of your HVAC system from anywhere, at any time. In addition to programming and controlling the temperature, these units can provide humidity control, airflow control, and more. Some smart thermostats can learn your habits and control the temperature automatically. With geofencing, the thermostat will adjust the temperature as you’re nearing your home.

Pair a Trane smart thermostat with the Trane Home App for full control of your HVAC system. Left for vacation without adjusting your system? No problem. Do it from your smartphone. The Home App is also compatible with voice assistants like Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa, so you can raise or lower the temperature just by speaking a few words.

When you opt into Trane Diagnostics via the Home App, you give your Trane dealer remote monitoring capabilities. Much like a security company monitors your home. The dealer monitors the health of your HVAC system, which allows them to spot potential problems while they’re still small. With some issues, they can solve the problem remotely (if you give them one-time access), much like a remote IT person can solve an issue on your work computer. This can save both you and the dealer time and money.

Select HVAC systems include innovative Trane Link™ technology, which communicates between system components to offer optimal performance. This technology also enables quality installation backed by automated verification tests. The Link™ technology also comes with advanced troubleshooting capabilities. Variable-speed communicating systems come with the Link™ Communicating System Controller and Smart Thermostat to promote optimal system performance.

Home comfort includes much more than temperature control. Indoor air quality (IAQ) can affect how hot or cold your home feels. High humidity and low humidity can cause comfort issues as well as potential damage to your home. Indoor air pollution can affect your health and exacerbate allergies and asthma.

Is your home hot upstairs and cold downstairs? Do you have a large home where the rooms furthest from the HVAC system are never the right temperature? A zoned HVAC system may be the answer to your comfort problems. Using a central control unit, a zoned system uses HVAC dampers to send conditioned air to where it is needed, helping you optimize home comfort.

A heat pump or AC unit uses the most power when it cycles on. So, a single-stage unit, or even a two-stage unit, can use a lot of power as they turn on and off more frequently. Compare that with a multi-speed system or a premium variable-speed system. They run for a longer time at lower speeds, using the minimum amount of energy to provide enhanced comfort. While a single-stage unit runs at 100% capacity whenever it’s on, our most efficient variable-speed units can run at 30-100% capacity, depending on your set temperature and the temperature outside. In addition, they offer superior dehumidification, allowing you to set a higher temperature while maintaining comfort.

Enhanced home comfort and energy savings await.

How do smart thermostats save money?

If you take advantage of all of the energy-saving options, a smart thermostat can save you money on your utility bills. By using the programmable features to set a higher or lower temperature while you’re away, along with automatic temperature changes that can come with geofencing, you can easily reduce your energy consumption. Reduced energy usage almost always correlates with reduced energy bills.

How does a Trane smart thermostat work with the Home App?

Once you download the Home App, you pair your smart thermostat. It’s a one-and-done thing that gives you control of your HVAC system from the palm of your hand. Have two HVAC systems? You can connect them both. Have a vacation home? You can add that system as well, as long as it has a Trane smart thermostat. The Home App is also compatible with voice assistants, so after connecting, you can turn up the heat or cool things down with a few words.

How does indoor air quality affect your comfort?

Indoor air quality (IAQ) is an important aspect of home comfort. High humidity makes everything feel warm and sticky. Low humidity can make it feel cold and dry. Indoor air pollutants can cause allergic reactions and other health issues. Air quality monitoring can identify issues, and whole-house indoor air quality solutions can optimize your comfort and positively impact your well-being.

How does dealer remote monitoring give you peace of mind?

Have you ever been worried while you’re on vacation about a heat wave or cold snap at home and how your HVAC system would keep up? Have visions of frozen pipes or mold and mildew growth? You wouldn’t have to worry if you opted for remote monitoring via the Home App.

HVAC remote monitoring allows your Trane dealer to spot issues whether you’re home or away, sometimes before you feel there’s a problem. With your permission, they can diagnose the issue remotely and send someone to your home to fix the problem, if they can’t fix it remotely.
