In this session, Ben Sykora, Applications Engineer, will provide an insightful overview of technology trends in industrial chillers. This presentation will also address shifting industry trends and compare current capabilities with those from past decades, illustrating why older chiller models may not meet today’s performance expectations.

Systems Applications Engineer Trane Commercial

Ben Sykora is an Applications Engineer at Trane, specializing in hydronic systems, heat pumps, and geothermal systems. He has been with Trane since 2008 and spent the first 15 years developing drives and motors for next-generation compressors.

A Wisconsin native, Ben served six years as a “nuke electrician's mate” on US Navy submarine SSN-773. He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering, is a certified Professional Engineer, and has 13 patents. Ben lives in La Crosse, Wisconsin, with his wife and daughter. In his free time, Ben likes camping and a good DIY project.
