Mansfield Memorial Homes to Complete Energy-Saving Upgrades for a More Sustainable Future

DAVIDSON, N.C., June 17, 2024 – Mansfield Memorial Homes in Mansfield, Ohio will be collaborating with Trane^® – by Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), a global climate innovator, to implement energy efficient upgrades to help reduce rising energy and operational costs while improving resident’s daily experience.

The updates will include the installation of solar panels on each of the care facility’s four buildings. The clean, renewable power generated by these systems will be used to help offset power from the grid and will be a self-sustaining, reliable source of power.

In addition, the care facility will replace the outdated fluorescent lighting systems in it’s four buildings with high-efficiency LED fixtures. In addition to improving light levels and overall aesthetics, the new system includes energy-saving features such as sensors that turn lights on and off as rooms are occupied and dimmers in key areas.

These improvements are expected to save the care facility more than $60,000 in energy and operational costs annually, resulting in up to a 25% reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The upgrades will begin soon and are expected to complete by the end of the year. 

The project will be funded by a $1.35 million grant from the Ohio Department of Development and will also receive tax incentives designed to drive further investment in energy projects.
