Trane Showcases its Industry Leadership in Heating and Cooling Products and Technologies at IBS 2016

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9, 2016 – Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort systems and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand (NYSE:IR), showcases its most highly advanced furnace platform in a quarter century ¾ the new S-Series Furnace ¾ along with a range of reliable and efficient products for residential replacement and builder applications at the International Builders’ Show (IBS), booth C6531, today through Jan. 21.

“Builders and homeowners alike rely on Trane, year after year, for optimal heating, cooling and efficiency. All of the products we’ve brought to IBS demonstrate our unwavering commitment to push the boundaries of performance and reliability in everything we do, whether it’s state-of-the-art heating and cooling technology, indoor air quality or connected controls — if it’s a Trane, they know it’s built to last,” said Mark Hall, Trane Residential HVAC builder and retail leader.

Trane S-Series Furnace: Dealer-inspired design and performance

To ensure the first new furnace platform from Trane in 25 years met not only the performance requirements for 2016 and beyond, but also excelled at meeting the needs of contractors, installers and service technicians, Trane’s design engineers collaborated with 12 contractors from across the country to design the new S-Series Furnace. The result is a highly advanced furnace designed and exhaustively tested to exceed the most stringent dealer and homeowner expectations.

Redesigned from the ground up, the 34″ high S-Series Furnace features an industry-first integrated furnace control board that allows faster set-ups and more intuitive diagnostics; a Vortica® II blower that quietly delivers improved airflow; stainless steel primary and secondary heat exchangers that are more durable and corrosive-resistant than aluminized steel; and a three-way poise feature (up, left or right) and dedicated downflow with multiple venting options in each poise, for installation flexibility.

Trane TruComfortTM Variable Speed Systems: Precision cooling and heating

Trane TruComfort systems deliver precise comfort by running at the exact speed needed to keep a home comfortable. This allows the compressor, outdoor fan and indoor fan to vary operating speed and BTU as the temperature outside changes, slowing down or speeding up gradually in as little as 1/10 of one percent increments, to keep comfort within half a degree of the thermostat setting. The Trane XV20i Variable Speed Air Conditioner, one of the industry’s most efficient systems with ratings up to 22 SEER, and the XC95m Modulating Furnace, with up to 97.3 percent efficiency will be featured. Both incorporate ComfortLink™ II communicating technology that connects all key components for optimal performance.

Trane CleanEffects™: Setting the standard for indoor air quality

The Trane CleanEffects Air Cleaner uses patented breakthrough technology to remove up to 99.98 percent of airborne particles from the air, including dust, pollen, pet hair and dander, dust mites, mildew, lint, fungus, most tobacco smoke, cooking grease, and even bacteria, to supply homes with a cleaner environment. It catches particles down to .1 micron, making it eight times more effective than the best HEPA room filters and up to 100 times more effective than a standard 1-inch filter.

Ductless Systems: Flexible home comfort and efficiency

Trane ductless systems bring efficient, convenient and economical indoor comfort to homes built without ducted heating and cooling systems or where installing ductwork may be too impractical and expensive. The high efficiency 4MXW27 Ductless Indoor Highwall unit is conveniently mounted on an interior wall, offering flexible heating and cooling solutions. The outdoor 4TXK27 Ductless Heat Pump unit works with the indoor unit to deliver precise, reliable comfort for single zones such as one-room additions or garages.

The Nexia™ smart home system: Home control at your fingertips

The Nexia smart home system integrates all of a home’s smart devices in a single all-in-one app, allowing homeowners reliable control over their home from anywhere. DIY installation and compatibility with numerous products from the most trusted brands make the system easily expandable and customizable. Powered by secure Z-Wave technology, Nexia allows homeowners to expand their system with hundreds of devices from top manufacturers to create a truly smart home that adjusts to everyday life.

By pairing with Nexia™, Trane-connected controls give homeowners convenient remote access to adjust home heating and cooling through the Nexia app. The Trane ComfortLink II XL950, a home energy command center, is an easy-to-use, programmable, digital thermostat that monitors indoor and outdoor temperatures, so users can adjust their systems to be more efficient. The XL824 Connected Control, a seven-day programmable control, is Wi-Fi enabled and includes a built-in Nexia bridge to act as the smart home hub, allowing control of not only the temperature but also the whole home through the control itself.

Nexia is the only smart-home platform to support Trane thermostats with continuous diagnostic capability – keeping a virtual eye on your Trane system and allowing small maintenance issues to be addressed before they become costly repairs. A new online consumer portal allows owners to monitor their Trane system in real time as well as provide in-depth diagnostic data about their systems to the dealer.
