2 Ways Trane Supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Trane and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® may be very different organizations, but they’re both unstoppable. For almost 60 years, St. Jude has steadfastly worked to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through its accelerated research and lifesaving treatment.

Its purpose-driven mission inspired Trane to partner with St. Jude on two national fundraising and awareness programs — the St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway and the annual St. Jude Walk/Run. Since the partnership formed in 2014, Trane has raised more than $1.6 million for St. Jude kids.

“Making advances against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases through research and treatment is an effort that takes many years, trillions of dollars and the efforts of millions of supporters coming together to make an impact. Thanks to longtime partners like Trane, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continues to make a difference for families in the United States and around the world through research and treatment,” said Candace Heitzmann, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

She went on to say: “Since 2014, Trane has donated and installed heating and cooling systems in communities across the country where we host the St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway and its employees have stepped up to raise funds for St. Jude kids every September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Funds generated through generous partners like Trane help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”

Trane National Strategic Account Manager Angie McCann has participated in the St. Jude Walk/Run as well as the St. Jude Run, a relay from Mason City to Peoria, Ill.

“When we became sponsors of the St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway, we discussed other ways we could get employees and dealers involved at the local level throughout the country,” she said. “The St. Jude Walk/Run was the perfect answer. So, we approached our dealer sales offices and independent wholesale distributors and asked them to fundraise and get their employees involved. It’s a really fun family activity, as well as being a great way to give to a worthy cause.”
