Barker Air Conditioning and Heating Inc. was founded by Judd Barker in 1959. The business was later sold to John A. Colontrelle in 1980 at a time when three people owned it. The company continued to grow and to serve its customers better; it opened up a new office in Sebastian in 1996. Its commitment to excellent customer service saw the workforce grow to over fifty and that is when the company built another facility at 1936 Commercial Avenue in 2008. The facility consisted of a showroom, a store, and fully stocked metal shop. In 2013, John A. Colontrelle felt it was time to retire and to ensure that the company continued to offer excellent services under the Colontrelle name, he sold the business to two of his sons Danny and John. The company has been located at 1936 Commercial Avenue since 2008 continues to serve the Vero Beach, Sebastian, Florida and the surrounding areas. The business is also a Trane independent dealer and Trane Comfort Specialist.
