How do I register my product?

You can register your Trane product online using the serial number, model number and installation date. If you don’t have this information or your sales invoice on hand, your dealer can provide it for you.

How do you make your products more reliable?

Trane Tests to Extremes
Each Trane product is put through 16 weeks of bone-chilling cold and blistering heat at the SEET (Systems Extreme Environmental Test) lab in Tyler, Texas. To ensure our heating and cooling units are up to par, our technicians put our products through the ultimate test of the elements, and after that, we try a more hands-on approach: Our technicians have tried to break our Climatuff® compressor over 900 ways. If a product doesn’t pass our tests, it doesn’t roll to production.
We don’t just say we’re the best; we’ve got the reputation to back it up. Trane was announced as a 5-star Smart Thermostat Brand in the 2021 America’s Most Trusted Study*. In addition, Trane CleanEffects® was determined to be the most effective whole-house air filtration system by a Harvard-led independent research project on the air cleaning performance of multiple in-duct and portable devices.

Can I transfer my warranty?

Registered products with an installation date of August 1, 2011 until December 31, 2020 are transferable to subsequent homeowners based on the terms and conditions of the limited warranty document. Please refer to the limited warranty document that was provided with your unit for more details.
A $99 fee will apply if the option is purchased outside of the Product Registration Period but within the Registered Limited Warranty period in the 90 days following the sale.

Is annual maintenance a requirement for my warranty?

Yes. System maintenance is a requirement of Trane Limited and applicable Extended warranty coverage. To keep your heating or cooling operating properly, we recommend a semi-yearly maintenance schedule with a local Comfort Specialist® dealer. Locate a dealer to schedule your annual maintenance.

What does the Limited Warranty Cover?

The Limited Warranty covers parts that break due to manufacturer defect but will not cover the cost of labor. Depending on the product, the Limited Warranty can range from five years to a lifetime.
Your warranty terms will vary depending on your product, but here is what is generally covered:
• Air conditioners compressor, outdoor coil, internal functional parts
• Heat pumps compressor, outdoor coil, internal functional parts
• Furnaces heat exchanger, internal functional parts
• Coils internal functional parts
• All-in-One Systems heat exchanger (where applicable), compressor, coil, internal functional parts
• Air Handlers internal functional parts
• Air Cleaners internal functional parts (excludes filters)
• Humidifiers internal functional parts
• Controls and Thermostats internal functional parts
