When it comes to modernizing a building, there are many factors to consider, and energy efficiency, decarbonization, risk reduction, and returning to work are just a few of the key topics that are dominating the industry. Lurking behind the scenes, however, are challenges such as aging automation technology, competing priorities, lack of funds, and a shortage of skilled labor. Optimizing HVAC systems can yield significant benefits and you can expect to realize both financial savings and energy savings. Now is the time to embark on a journey that reflects the growth and innovation of the world today with upgrades and modernization. Register today to learn how you can develop sustainable automation and optimization plans and ensure that your building remains efficient and seamlessly connected.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Identify current commercial building stock – system types, equipment, and controls deployed over the past 50 years.
  • Identify retrofit/upgrade opportunities that can help customers reach their energy efficiency & decarbonization goals.
  • Identify opportunities to support facility managers and sustain operation throughout a facility's lifecycle.

Decarbonizing the Built Environment: The Role of Embodied Carbon, LCAs, and EPDs
As the trend to achieve net zero carbon intensifies, the building sector, responsible for approximately 39% of global CO2 emissions, is experiencing a notable shift. Significant strides have been made in helping to reduce operational carbon through energy-efficient and electrified HVAC systems, as well as renewable energy. Now, the focus is shifting towards helping to decrease embodied carbon, which includes the greenhouse gas emissions arising from the entire lifecycle of building materials. This presentation will explore the key aspects of embodied carbon in the context of whole life carbon footprint.
