Our experts provide extensive, real-world education. After all, Trane trains the industry.

When we say, “Trane trains the industry,” it’s not an empty catchphrase; it’s the crux of what we do, and who we are.

When Reuben Trane first introduced his new low-pressure steam heating system in 1913, he knew that it wasn’t enough to simply introduce an industry-changing product.  He also had to teach people how to apply that product in a real-world setting. In 1925, he opened what is now called the Trane Graduate Training Program, initially intended as internal training for Trane engineers and sales personnel.

Today, Trane recruits engineering graduates from top universities to receive an intensive post-graduate training regimen that encompasses sales, engineering, HVAC systems design and application – all with an emphasis on ethics and professional standards. With more than 8,700 graduates to date, the Trane Graduate Training Program is recognized as the most comprehensive and prestigious program of its kind in the industry.

Training remains the foundation of the Trane commitment to creating safe and sustainable buildings. With more than 700 LEED Accredited Professionals on staff, Trane furthers its environmental stewardship through industry-renowned education in fundamental building design and construction. Trane is an approved education provider for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), offering courses in ASHRAE standards, LEED modeling, energy-saving strategies and more.

Trane establishes industry standards, then trains the industry accordingly – an industry that includes not only technicians and sales engineers, but also building owners and engineers. As the Trane line of products has evolved, so too has the ability of our people to share their knowledge and expertise with customers, for healthy, comfortable and productive environments.
