| R-410A refrigerant has been selected as the refrigerant of choice by most new equipment manufacturers to replace R-22. This refrigerant operates at significantly higher pressures than R-22. Because of this, manufacturers are requiring that anyone working with this new
refrigerant or equipment must receive additional training in its proper handling and safety issues. Dealers must be educated in stricter installation and service techniques required for working with these units.
Because of the higher pressures, new tools, gauges, recovery equipment, and safety procedures are required. Servicing these units also requires that you use reversing valves, expansion valves, filter-driers, and other components specifically designed for R-410A. These issues will be covered in detail to prevent potential safety hazards for servicing technicians.
This refrigerant will dramatically change the way you will do business in the future. Proper training is mandatory for installers, technicians, equipment owners, and maintenance and service personnel. This course covers critical points that service technicians must understand to properly service commercial air conditioning equipment utilizing R-410A. Technical definitions,
safety precautions, pressure differences, diagnostic tips, recommended charging and recovery methods as well as tooling issues – Testing follows curriculum
