EarthWise™ Design Approach - HVAC Systems
For any building owner concerned with
Energy,
IAQ and the
Environment, Trane’s EarthWise Systems represent a design philosophy
whose time has come. EarthWise Systems by definition provide documented sustainability
of high efficiency, low emissions over the entire lifetime of the building.

Compared to conventional designs, our EarthWise systems reduce total
cost of ownership with both a lower first cost and reduced ongoing operating
costs. The systems include a low flow, low temperature, high efficiency design that
uses smaller pipes and pumps, thus fewer natural resources and less energy for water
circulation. And that colder water makes colder air, which is distributed throughout
zones in smaller ducts, using less energy for fan circulation and less material
for the ductwork. Supplying less airflow at colder temperatures permits quieter
operation and reduces relative humidity in the building, improving indoor air quality.
The approach reduces environmental impact inside and out. It requires less space,
which leaves more for the architect to design and the owner to rent or sell. EarthWise
systems also need less energy to run, and are substantially quieter than traditional applied systems and have optimized control algorithms
for sustainable performance.
EarthWise Design
EarthWise Systems, in some cases, are actually less expensive to install and, in
almost all cases, offer lower operating costs than conventional designs. Trane Integrated
Comfort Solutions (ICS) control technology assures that the EarthWise System delivers
optimal, reliable performance that can be documented.
