Qualifying Trane products purchased after December 31, 2005 and before January 1, 2008 are eligible for the
credit allowed under Section 25C of the Internal Revenue Code as Qualified Energy Property.
Based on your answers, you could be eligible for an energy efficiency tax credit
under the Energy Policy Act of 2005. A taxpayer claiming credit for Qualified Energy
Property should retain a copy of the Trane certification as part of the taxpayer’s
records, along with the receipt from purchase. Taxpayers should consult with a tax
advisor to determine what qualifies for a tax credit or refer to the rules of the
Internal Revenue Code. The IRS will determine final tax credit amounts.
