Trane Enables On-The-Go Access to Building Systems with Tracer™ BAS Operator Suite Application for Mobile Devices
Brussels, Belgium, 2 October, 2013 – To enable building owners, facility managers and control operators access and management of their building systems via mobile devices, Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, introduced the free Tracer™ Building Automation System (BAS) Operator Suite mobile application.
A building management system is the key to high performance building operations. The new Trane application for iOS™ and Android™ devices enables users to have an increased insight into the building’s system and monitor how the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems are working. This application allows for real time remote, on-the-go management of the entire systems’ operations.
Facility managers and operators can now easily adjust the systems’ set-point settings to maximize efficiency and comfort using only their mobile devices and Tracer™ BAS Operator Suite. They can receive alarm notifications virtually anywhere allowing them to respond quicker and resolve the issues faster and remotely. The application also provides notifications when to schedule a straight-forward maintenance tasks or a preventive inspection of the system.
“With the arrival and rapid development of mobile devices, the entire world is at your fingertips virtually everywhere,” said Hugues Depré, controls project development leader for Trane in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. “Smartphones and tablets are perceived as cutting-edge tools, and we have experienced a significant demand for remote access to building systems via mobile devices. Trane responds to this demand with its new Tracer™ BAS Operator Suite application.”
The new Tracer™ BAS Operator Suite application enables the operators to:
o View active and historic alarms in the system, by severity and trigger conditions
o Acknowledge new alarms and add comments for others to see
o Delete alarm notification to clear the log
o Gain insight into the air conditioned spaces, with the operation of equipment and entire systems
o Use built-in graphics for at a glance, easy to read status including animations
o Respond to requests by adjusting temperature set-points, overriding equipment and occupancy
The Tracer™ BAS Operator Suite application works with Trane Tracer SC building automation system controller version 3.6 and higher. Designed for Android™ and iOS™ devices for a phone-sized screen, the application will also work on select tablets and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or from Google Play.
