Trane Provides Chiller System Upgrade and R’newal Service Program,
Owners Gain Efficiency Through Maintenance Services

Building owners and facility managers can upgrade chiller equipment in order to gain the
highest levels of performance and reliability during the summer

DAVIDSON, N.C., August 8, 2016 – Increased temperatures and severe weather conditions in the summer puts an increased demand on heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and can cause a loss in efficiency. Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, helps building owners and managers control energy costs by offering a comprehensive chiller service and upgrade program that bring existing chillers to the same level of efficiency, reliability, and current technology offered by a new Trane chiller.

“Many building owners and managers are faced with the challenge to increase the performance and efficiency of an aging building in order to increase profitability,” said Dean Gieseman, service products manager, Trane. “With Trane chiller system upgrades and the R’newal™ service program building owners and mangers can restore the performance and efficiency of their chiller by replacing worn parts and materials, or upgrading software technology, which is especially important during the summer when equipment is working at peak load.”

Trane Building Services is committed to helping facility managers and building owners keep their chiller system running at maximum efficiency, minimize service calls, and extend the life of their equipment. Trane expanded the chiller upgrade service offerings making it possible for customers to upgrade their Trane® Series R™ chillers.

The latest Series R chiller upgrade offerings include:

  • Tracer® AdaptiView™ controls are the latest in HVAC chiller control technology, and are now available for Trane Series R (RTHA, RTHB, RTHC and RTHD) chillers. Operators can view, access, and control chiller operations and functions and gain insight into energy use and system performance.
  • Trane® Adaptive™ Frequency Drive (AFD) upgrade is now available for Series R, model RTHD chillers. Upgrading to an AFD increases chiller efficiency and significantly lowers energy use and sound levels.

The R’newal service program is a Trane exclusive, factory specified, field executed service program that is backed by a two-year parts and labor warranty and includes:

  • Replacement of worn materials.
  • Component updates where applicable.
  • Inspection of mechanical components.
  • Startup per original chiller specifications.
  • Options for EarthWise™ Purge, AdaptiView and AFD Retrofit.

“The R’newal program allows owners and facility managers to prevent expensive and unplanned equipment failures, which causes increased maintenance costs, loss in productivity and efficiency and affects the bottom line,” said Gieseman. “The temperatures this summer have hit record levels, and taking the steps to avoid an unexpected breakdown is even more important.”

The Trane Building Services chiller upgrade and R’newal service program offerings will continue to expand to include additional Trane chiller lines. To learn more visit, www.trane.com/services.
