Electric Unit Heaters - Unit Heaters | Trane

Electric Unit Heaters

UHEC: Electric unit heaters provide reliable, efficient operation. Typically used for spot heating, these units are factory wired and fused for quick and easy installation.

UHXA: Specifically designed for rugged industrial applications, Trane explosion-proof electric unit heaters can be used in hazardous locations where the presence of certain flammable gases, vapors, powdered metals or dusts create the possibility of explosion or fire.

UHRA: Trane's electric architectural forced-air wall heaters combine quiet, reliable heating with an attractive cabinet design. Their ease of installation, rugged construction and architectural styling particularly suits them for use in commercial, industrial and institutional applications. Typical examples include offices, lobbies and reception areas, schools and dormitories.

UHWA: Series 20 and 50. Intended for commercial, institutional and many industrial applications, the durable, vandal-resistant design of Trane's heavy-duty electric wall heaters especially suits them for use in public buildings such as schools, stores, offices, dormitories, hospitals and transportation terminals. They are typically used to heat lobbies, entryways, corridors, reception areas, stairways, rest rooms and offices.

Wall-mounted electric heaters - in sizes ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 watts - area available in a number of voltage/phase combinations; all are UL-listed. To further enhance heater versatility, as well as minimize system installation and design time, a wide selection of pre-engineered, factory-installed control options is offered.

Typical examples include offices, lobbies and reception areas, schools and dormitories.

Offered in 16 models with heating capacities ranging from 5,119 to 16,380 BTU per hour, these heaters are lightweight and compact - all units weigh less than 30 pounds, and the grille-and-frame assembly measures approximately 21 inches high, 16 inches wide and 5 inches deep (including the rough-in-box).

To assure quiet operation, the heater design incorporates a "paddle-wheel" style vaneaxial blower that delivers 175 cfm of heated air in a downflow discharge pattern. The fan is driven by a low-speed (600 rpm), four-pole motor, and is controlled by a tamperproof, built-in thermostat calibrated for an operating range of 55°F to 85°F.

For durability, the heater grille consists of individual louvers reinforced by 0.09-inch vertical steel bars; all unit housings are constructed of 20-gauge steel. Both grille and heater box are painted with a rust-resistant, black baked enamel finish that complements any decor. A snap-on, anodized aluminum frame accents the grille and is secured to the heater with an inconspicuous fastener.
