Warranty Information and Options
For Trane products installed prior to May 1, 2009
All Trane products are manufactured with the latest technology and the highest standards of quality. Because we stand behind everything we build, your new system is covered by some of the best Manufacturer’s Limited Warranties in the industry. For owners looking for a little extra security, we also offer Optional Extended Warranties to give you years of worry-free protection long after your system has been installed
Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty
A limited warranty is the warranty provided by the manufacturer. It's called "limited" because it's typically limited to a specific length of time and to specific items that it covers.
Through an agreement with Trane and its distributors, independent dealers cover labor for at least one year after installation. Our highest-efficiency outdoor units are covered for two years.
A heating and air conditioning system is a major purchase, so you'll want to make sure you fully understand the Manufacturer's Limited Warranty before you buy. Ask your dealer what the Manufacturer's Limited Warranty covers for the model(s) you've selected and if upgrading it with an Optional Extended Warranty is right for you.

Optional extended warranties
An extended warranty protects your investment and gives you peace of mind for the long run. If you didn’t purchase an optional extended warranty when you bought your system, it’s not too late. If your unit or system is less than 5 years old, you can still purchase one. If you currently have an optional extended warranty and require service, just call the dealer listed on your agreement and he’ll take care of you. If you are unable to contact your assigned servicer, call any Trane dealer listed under the Trane listing in your local Yellow Pages or use our Dealer Locator for assistance.
Extended Warranty Coverage includes:
- Option to purchase coverage in five (5)- or ten (10)-year increments* to cover parts only or parts and labor for the duration of the agreement. The option to purchase coverage on equipment that has been installed for less than 5 years is also available (some restrictions apply).
- Fully transferable to the new owner if property is sold.
- Built-in product replacement advantage
Please note that routine maintenance is required as recommended in the owner's manual to ensure proper performance of the equipment. Repairs that are required due to lack of routine maintenance are not covered by the Trane Extended Warranty Agreement. Your independent Trane dealer can provide routine maintenance.
A range of coverage options and features are available. For more information, contact your independent Trane dealer.
* Renewal is at the sole option of Trane Warranty Company.
