What is ENERGY STAR? |
 |
 |
 |
 |

ENERGY STAR is a voluntary awareness, communications and marketing
campaign developed by the U.S. Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA), in 1992 to promote energy efficiency in a multitude of products, including
heating/cooling equipment. Trane has partnered with EPA to label our high efficiency
systems with the ENERGY STAR label so homeowners can easily identify products which
are more energy efficient and help reduce our whole earth's pollution problems.

All Trane split system air conditioner and heat pump units with
a SEER
(Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 14 or above, HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) of 8.0 or above,
and all Trane gas furnaces with an AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) of 90% or above
meet or exceed the minimum efficiency required by the EPA for ENERGY STAR recognition.
Homeowners will easily recognize the new, more efficient products because they will
be identified by the EPA ENERGY STAR logo. Trane qualified products display an ENERGY
STAR label on the front of the product and on the shipping carton. |

Energy Facts |
 |
 |
 |
 |

Household energy use contributes to air pollution, including
20% of all U.S. emissions of carbon dioxide. It also accounts for 26% of all U.S.
emissions of sulfur dioxide and 15% nitrogen oxides. By using more energy efficient
appliances and heating and cooling equipment, and constructing more energy-efficient
homes, we can reduce this pollution -- and save energy at the same time. |
