Environmental Stewardship
We changed our name from American Standard Companies to Trane on November 28, 2007, following a successful company separation. The information in the following section includes our former businesses, along with Trane.
Protection Procedures
We fulfill our commitment to our Environmental Stewardship through our Environmental Stewardship procedures. These procedures include compliance reports, staffing and training exercises, governmental inspection of facilities, waste minimization strategies, emergency preparedness policies, and compliance and remediation programs. For example:
- Compliance Reports
- All facilities submit an annual compliance certification to the Office of Environmental Affairs This annual certification is also reviewed by the Audit Committee.
- Staffing/Training
- All facilities provide opportunities for staff training to increase awareness of how to manage environmental protection. All employees who are in any way involved in handling hazardous substances are trained in the procedures established for handling these substances.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Facility-specific emergency plans and procedures have been established to ensure that there is an appropriate response to unexpected or accidental incidents.
