IT’S THE LAW! ! You must be certified under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act to work on stationary air conditioners and refrigeration systems.
Using the Refrigerant Transition & Recovery Manual, you will review refrigerant chemistry, recovery, recycling and reclaiming, environmental issues, legislation and regulations, current EPA rulings, proper refrigerant transportation and disposal. The course is designed to prepare you for the test to become EPA certified to recover and contain refrigerant from both high and low pressure air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and to administer the test. The course is divided into a six (6) hour review followed by a two (2) hour exam.
- Review of Clean Air Act of 1990 – Section 608 Refrigerant Transition & Recovery/Containment.
- Prepare attendees to take the EPA refrigerant handling certification exam.
$65 for those needing to retest only . . . No course or manual.
Early registration is recommended!
The Refrigerant Transition & Recovery Manuals are distributed to you in advance so you can study before the course.

Payment must be received within two (2) weeks of registration (or before the course date whichever comes first). Registrations are accepted on a first-to-register basis until the course is full. You will receive a map and confirmation one (1) week prior to the session. If the course is already full, you will receive notification immediately. It is the responsibility of the attendee to contact Trane if a confirmation is not received prior to the course date.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Check, or Money Order. Make check payable to Trane. Mail to Trane Detroit office. Registration fees include materials and lunch (for full-day courses). |

We realize work schedules must be flexible. If your schedule changes, you may request, in writing, a substitution for another course, or cancel your registration, up to seven (7) business days prior to the start of your scheduled course. Substitutions and cancellations are subject to a $25 registration service charge.
Please note: If you do not notify us of your cancellation in writing seven (7) business days before course, or do not attend, you are still responsible for payment.
Dates listed are subject to change based on instructor availability. We will notify you in advance if this happens. We reserve the right to cancel course if minimum course size is not obtained. In the event of a cancellation, you will be contacted regarding a new date, or your money will be refunded in full. Our liability will be limited to the return of the registration fee. |
