This seminar is designed to differentiate between design and operation in centrifugal, rotary and absorption chillers. Attendees will look at the overall picture of building design and study chilled water loops. Additional topics include pumping, distribution, returns, towers, accessories, piping designs, controls, and standards for operation. Once these topics have been covered, attendees will study how chilled water plants are designed and operate, including the layout of common types of plants, primary-secondary decoupled, primary-secondary coupled, primary distribute, secondary/tertiary pumping systems on large-scale plants, common problems with each style plant, and troubleshooting techniques to correct these problems to gain optimum plant operation.
