Facility operation personnel, contractors, and technicians wanting a better knowledge of electrical components, circuits and troubleshooting techniques used on HVAC systems.

Description

After an overview of electric terminology, the attendee will learn the operation of various electrical devices used in HVAC systems, and the procedures for troubleshooting them. It incorporates principles of relays and other switching mechanisms and covers the basic principles of reading schematic wiring diagrams. The attendee will become familiar with HVAC electrical devices and circuits and will be able to use this knowledge to troubleshoot electrical controls and electrical systems in order to repair them. This course has one lab exercise and several in which the instructor demonstrates troubles on commercial air conditioner/furnace system components and the students work in groups of 2 using a schematic to identify faulty electrical components.

Registration Information

Payment must be received within two (2) weeks of registration (or before the course date whichever comes first). Registrations are accepted on a first-to-register basis until the course is full. You will receive a map and confirmation one (1) week prior to the session. If the course is already full, you will receive notification immediately. It is the responsibility of the attendee to contact Trane if a confirmation is not received prior to the course date.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Check, or Money Order. Make check payable to Trane. Mail to Trane Detroit office. Registration fees include materials and lunch (for full-day courses).

Prerequisites

An experienced knowledge of electrical fundamentals is required or previous attendance at the ELECTRICAL FUNDAMENTALS FOR BUILDINGS course.

Cancellation Policy

We realize work schedules must be flexible. If your schedule changes, you may request, in writing, a substitution for another course, or cancel your registration, up to seven (7) business days prior to the start of your scheduled course. Substitutions and cancellations are subject to a $25 registration service charge. Please note: If you do not notify us of your cancellation in writing seven (7) business days before course, or do not attend, you are still responsible for payment.
Dates listed are subject to change based on instructor availability. We will notify you in advance if this happens. We reserve the right to cancel course if minimum course size is not obtained. In the event of a cancellation, you will be contacted regarding a new date, or your money will be refunded in full. Our liability will be limited to the return of the registration fee.
